St Patrick's Day Dinner Dance

No one threw their panties at him, but at our St. Pat’s Dinner Dance, Z-Band’s “Elvis” received some long stemmed roses from some ladies in the audience. Then to everyone’s surprise, Larry Knopfel (green hat below) gave Elvis his table’s centerpiece. Right after that, Vince Koehr helped Larry carry the lobby flower pot into the ballroom to also present to Elvis. All in all, I think he might have preferred some panties - but it sure was good for some laughs.

Men’s Day Out Trip Cancelled

Due to a couple of illnesses we unfortunately had to cancel our March 12th Men’s Day Out trip. Oh well, maybe next time..

Heritage of Hawk Ridge Book Of The Month Club
By Karen Singleton of the Toucan Singletons

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13th at the Club House. We will be discussing “The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox” by Maggie O’Farrel.

This compelling tale of social standing and reputation set between the 1930’s and today keeps the reader spellbound as the thoughts of Iris, Esme, and Kitty reveal secrets and images that build the story as it progresses. Why was Esme sent to the “mad house” and then dismissed by the entire family as non-existent? Do you think Kitty remembers, or has any remorse for the betrayal of her sister? Why does Iris seem to keep her lovers, Luke and Alex, on the outside? You will be hooked by the various characters and their stories the minute you begin reading.

There are 6 copies of this book in the library. It is a quick read and Everyone should be able to complete the book before the next meeting. Questions? Call Karen Singleton 561-6364.

WALK FOR DINNER!!!

Spring is just around the corner and it’s time to get out those walking shoes. Gather at the Clubhouse on Monday’s @ 5 p.m. beginning April 7th and walk to Bread Co. for dinner. Round trip is approximately 5 miles. No sign ups, just show ups. Everyone welcome.

Closed on Mondays.

Please remember that the golf course cart path is not to be used for walking during the hours the golf course is open. At this time of year that is Tuesday - Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. This is a mandate from the HHR Association insurance carrier, and is for your own protection.

AND

Only licensed drivers 16 years and older may drive a golf cart. This also means kids shouldn’t be sitting on your lap steering the cart.
This is a rule and is for the safety of everyone.

An incredible free resource - your HHR Computer Club!

We have successfully taught classes for 9 weeks (interrupted only by weather) covering Introduction to Computing, Virus and Spyware, Computer Organization including Folders and Files, MS Word, E-Mail, Internet Browsers, Excel, Publisher, Pictures, CD/DVD Usage and Flash Drives. We have had an average attendance of 11 attendees and taught 27 total students at one time or another. This included instruction and practical exercises under supervision in the Computer Center. Classes are scheduled on Thursdays at 1:30 PM.

We have assisted numerous residents with both hardware and software issues in their homes and have migrated a couple of residents onto a new computer with their old files. All of this at NO COST TO ANYONE! Anyone can be a member by simply attending a computer club meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 3 PM. If anyone wishes to be placed on the contact list and receive reminders, they simply need to send their email address to Mike Shatzman at mshatzman@centurytel.net and they will be added to the list.

We also wish to mention a special thanks to Larian Johnson who volunteered and taught all of the classes.
