IS THE EASTER BUNNY
EARLY?
No, actually Alex Cassell was modeling the bunny ears he
won at Bingo. Besides giving away cash, several “Let’s Make A Deal” games
were played. Alex traded the cash he won for his pick of any three
wrapped prizes on the prize cart.
Besides the bunny ears he won a bottle of Menage a Trois
wine, and a large pair of boxer shorts that said “You know you’re a
redneck when you hunt on your front lawn.”

The always charming and debonair Tony Calcaterra, seen
here is holding $100 that he won by himself in the final bingo game of
the night. The last game was a cover-all and there were two unusual
aspects to this game. First, it was won in about 8 minutes, and second,
only one person won the pot..

and are need of repair. Call Rich Singer - 636-561-1747.
Alex Cassell, 89, is moving to Cupertino, California on April
11, 2007. He got a new job. No, actually he is going to live with
his oldest daughter. We will miss him.
Thank you to Tony Zito, and the rest of his Low Roller Poker
buddies who helped him during the games following his strokes. We
are sure Alex will miss Heritage - he enjoyed the dances, bingo,
karaoke, and the bus trips. Alex is a widower who recently stopped
wearing his wedding band. When asked why, he said, “So the ladies
will know I’m available.” Hey, Alex, maybe you’ll get lucky in
California.
The Circle of Hope group will be meeting the THIRD MONDAY of
each month at 1:00 PM.
Line Dancing will meet just one time in April, on the 1st.
Thank you to Ellis Nelson who has spent countless hours
organizing the HHR Men’s Seniors Softball League, not to mention his
own money for a variety of equipment.
Mary Leach received her “Life Masters” from the American
Contract Bridge Association. She acquired these points: 25 Red, 25
Gold, 50 Silver. She received this winning on a team from
Pittsburgh. Her partner was Pat Neiman from O’Fallon.
If you’d like to acknowledge someone special who did something nice
in the next Putterings, just drop a note by the office. |

Heritage of Hawk Ridge -
Wood Working Club
Our Wood Working Club is going to build a podium for the Heritage of Hawk
Ridge Clubhouse. The podium will be made during the months of April and
May in Barry Bingham’s woodworking shop. We encourage all members of the
Club (and any resident interested in wood working) to participate in the
design and construction of the podium. This is an opportunity to learn
more about wood working and the use of wood working machinery.
To accommodate the active schedules of residents, two-hour work sessions
have been scheduled on some mornings, some afternoons, and some evenings.
Each work session will have a maximum of five people working or observing.
We have scheduled nine work sessions.
Please call Barry Bingham at 314-494-6834 or email him at
barrybingham@aol.com to be
scheduled for a work session. The work sessions begin Monday, April 9 and
conclude with a presentation of the podium to the Clubhouse on May 16 at
5:00 p.m.

Food For Thought
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the
good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
Now that I'm "older" (but refuse to grow up), here's what I've
discovered:
- I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
- My wild oats have turned into All Bran.
- I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
- Funny, I don't remember being absent minded.
- Funny, I don't remember being absent minded.
- If all is not lost, where is it?
- It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.
- The only time the world beats a path to your door is when you're in
the bathroom.
- If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would have put them on my
knees.
- It's not hard to meet expenses; they're everywhere.
- These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter. I go
somewhere to get
something and then wonder what I'm hereafter.

Dean Christopher Show
You can’t see her face, but that’s Betty McGavran under Dean
Christopher. Dean sang and did impressions of Dean Martin, Frank
Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., as well as Jerry Lewis, Tom Jones, Johnny
Mathis, and he concluded his show with Elvis. At the end of the show
Dean went into the audience and kissed a dozen or so ladies, and sat
on a few laps. This was Dean’s third appearance at HHR, and he was
funnier than ever. We had a record attendance of over 150 people. It
was one of our best shows to date. |
|
|
Below are some of the desserts served at the show. We had 18 cakes, 8
pies, 3 dozen chocolate éclairs, 3 dozen crème puffs, and 3 dozen
petit fours. YUM! |
