3rd Lobster Fest at
Heritage of Hawk Ridge
Thanks to Ray & Nancy Withey, and a small army of volunteer helpers,
our 3rd Lobster Fest was an incredible hit. Ray procured fresh live Maine
lobsters wholesale and were they good! Above Nancy Withey, Ellen O’Coin,
and Nancy Ellis pose with 3 live lobsters about to take a swim in one of
the pots on the stove. One hundred and six people feasted on lobster,
fresh salad and rolls, and delicious cheese cakes for dessert. The tables
were all set up with really cute lobster themed place settings, and on
the overhead sound system were songs playing that all had something to do
with the sea. See November highlights for more pictures of this fun
event.

COMMUNITY NOTICES
Lobster Fest
How in the world can we ever begin to acknowledge and thank everyone
who played a part in the Lobster Fest? The out pouring of help and
support was amazing and humbling. To everyone who helped in the
planning, set up, cooking the lobster and baking the potatoes,
serving, contributing the music, cleanup, loaning of pots, etc., you
have our heartfelt gratitude and a big
THANK YOU!
There were so many people who stepped up to the challenge and came
through to help put on the biggest Lobster Fest to date. I would
especially like to acknowledge Ellen O’Coin. Thank you for all of
the hours spent planning, coordinating, the e-mails back and forth
to help keep us on track, helping with the set up, cooking and the
clean up. Each time we do this, it is a learning experience. Thank
you to Joe O’Coin for finding the great dinner service that made it
fun and to Ellen for going to every Target store in St. Charles
County to find enough pieces to serve 128 people. Most of all, thank
you to everyone who came to the Lobster Fest.
Ray and Nancy Withey
Many Thanks
Since August, I have completed 28 lap robes for Meals on Wheels.
They have been distributed and very much appreciated. Many thanks to
everyone who contributed to my supply of yarn. That supply has
pretty well been depleted. If you would like to contribute and have
some unused yarn, I would very much appreciate it. Any amount or
color will do.
Thanks again,
Ann Klasing - 561-6772 |

“Heritage of Hawk Ridge
Wood Working Club”
The first meeting of the HHR Wood Working Club will be held Saturday,
December 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the HHR clubhouse. Coffee and
donuts will be served.
The purpose of the club is to “make sawdust”….and encourage working with
wood.
We want to invite anyone interested in working with wood doing any type of
projects such as making toys and games for grandchildren, making
furniture, re-finishing furniture, wood carving, wood turning, jig saw
work, intarsia (making pictures with wood), making cabinets, shelves, tool
racks, things around the house, learning about working with wood of all
kinds and projects, and taking field trips such as wood shows, classes,
and wood shops.
We encourage you to bring something to “show and tell” or to seek ideas
such as: a completed project (could be a picture) or a “work in progress”,
your favorite hand tool or a unique tool or jig, a question on “how to” do
something, ideas for your next project, your favorite wood working
magazine, your interest in leaning something you’ve always wondered about,
and your need for donuts and coffee, and to meet and great others with
similar interests.
For questions, please call Barry Bingham at 314-494-6834 or
barrybingham@aol.com.

TREE
TRIMMING POTLUCK DINNER PARTY
Each year we
get more and more volunteers to help decorate our trees. Everyone
brought great food to share, and the evening was topped off by singing
Christmas Carols around the clubhouse piano.
