SATURDAY MORNING POOL FUN

The first picture below was altered with photoshop to recreate how Ron Miller used the 5 ball instead of the cue ball to make a shot. We tried to tell him he was using the wrong ball but he was so focused on the shot he didn’t hear us. In the bottom picture Judy Jacques gets a little coaching from Bob Ederle.

Community Notices

Thank You
Thank you one and all for your loving support after my surgery. The cards, telephone calls, delicious food, prayers, visits and inspirational material were all greatly appreciated and I’ll be forever indebted to each and everyone of you. This loving and caring community is the greatest!

Heartfelt thanks,
Huguette Duff`

Book Club Date Change
January 13, 2006 - I received a jury summons yesterday and I have to report for duty on February 14, 2006, which is the date of the book club which I am supposed to host. Rather than try to find an alternate date in February that would please everyone, if it is acceptable to all, I will host the book club on Tuesday , March 14, 2006. This would have been the correct date anyway if I had not had to postpone it from January to February. Hope to see all of the book club members and prospective members at my home on March 14, 2006.

Sincerely,
Andree Wayman

Ronald McDonalds House Thanks You.
A new tab collection container is in the Club House Kitchen and all donations are appreciated. Tabs from soda, beer, soup, pet food cans, etc. are recycled by the facility to help with the families who stay at the House while their critically ill children are treated in the hospital. You may also continue to drop the tabs off at Karen Singleton’s home and they will be deposited at the nearest location. Keep ‘em coming - we are making a difference!

Roger Richert and Ron Ehrle study the next shot (below left) during the Putter Pool Tournament we held on January 7, 2006. We had 4 teams compete and the 1st Place Winners were Ray Withey & Al Schwartz seen (below middle) with 2nd Place Joan and Len Ketterer.

(Bottom Right) Roger Richert (left) and Ron Ehrle (right) came in 3rd Place, and Bob Ederle and young Gary McCullough came in 4th Place. All of our competitors won prizes and after the tournament rec directors Stu Cassell and John Pellerito challenged the winners to an exhibition match. Everyone had fun.

Please remember that the golf course cart path is not to be used for walking during the hours the golf course is open. At this time of year that is Tuesday - Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. This is a mandate from the HHR Association insurance carrier, and is for your own protection.

WHAT DO THESE TWO GUYS HAVE IN COMMON?
Leal Stewart (left) and John Pellerito (right) are both retired Postal Supervisors, and they are both very interesting fellows. Leal started out in life as a cowboy. John, our assistant Recreation Director is certified as a master gardener. He is a member of the chamber of commerce, and a city alderman. Both are fun guys who love people. Leal lives with his daughter Karen Singleton and her husband Jim. John lives with his wife Kathy and has 2 daughters living in Florida. We are lucky to have both of these great guys at Heritage of Hawk Ridge.

LOW ROLLERS POKER
Below Left: Game moderator Alex Cassell explains the rules of our monthly Low Rollers Poker Game. Below Middle:  Suzanne Hooper and Laverne Meyer were the top two winners. Suzanne arrived a little late and prior to the start Laverne announced several times: “If I’m the only woman here I’m going home” - then she proceeded to beat the pants off of the men at the table. Roger Richert is seen to seated next to her. Below Right: Roger, Tony Zito, and Ron Miller who also joined the fun game. Not pictured is the guy who had the camera, Stu Cassell who joined the fun game that is now a monthly event. Come join us!

OTHER PHOTO HIGHLIGHTS

Looking lovely on New Years Eve are Sharon Aubuchon, Carole Waugh, Lynn Rogers, Janet Cattau, and Betty McGavran.

New Years Eve party guests (front row) Delores Behrens, Sharon Kovac, Barbara & Ralph Deater, (back row) Ron & Jane Ehrle, and Dave & Dottie Miller all looking spiffy and ready to have a good time, which everyone did.
JACK STEVENS DANCE PARTY - Above: Jim & Karen Singleton, Pat Roberts & Leal Stewart, Don Roberts, Reacy Lee, Judy Markham, Sandy Aubuchon, Joe O’Coin & Stephanie Hempel. Everyone raved about the band, and Leal celebrated his 91st birthday by dancing with just about all of the ladies.

We had 2 fun dance contests - Roger Richert (left) was one of our “secret dancers” and won a box of Amaretto cookies. (right) Stu is seen with Bob Bell who filled his dance card and whose name was drawn for a prize. Bob once won a free golf membership at another dance party. Lucky guy!
