Bridge Club News

Heritage Daytime Bridge Group held it's third annual award luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at the clubhouse.

Seventeen members and subs attended.  Each member brought one cup of a different ingredient to add to lettuce to make a large and delicious salad.  Sex members volunteered to make muffins and desserts for the luncheon.  Sandra Heuay, Karen Singleton and Pat Goddard brought muffins and bread sticks, and Elaine Voight, Judy Markham and Donna Christiansen brought desserts.  Thank you so much, girls!!!

Prizes were awarded to the following members:  High individual score of 4330, high overall score of 44030 and attendance, (with this member missing only 2 days), was won by Jeanette Hage.  Second high individual score of 4110, and second high overall score of 39300, was won by Pat Goddard.  Honorable mention went to Pat Goddard and Karen Singleton for bidding and making a Grand Slam!!!

We played bridge after the luncheon and the high for the day was Sandra Heuay with 3150 and second was Marilyn Tabaca with 2380.  Low was Elaine Voight with 640.

We all had a wonderful time and everyone is looking forward to next year when we start the season on Thursday, January 5th, at 12:30.  Hope to see you all there!  A new roster will be sent to you before the start of next season.

We still have two openings for our daytime group.  Please call me if you want to play bridge at 636-625-2225.

Donut Social

December at Heritage of Hawk Ridge was filled with Holiday activities.

We had our annual “Cup of Christmas Tea” luncheon, a resident progressive dinner, a Christmas Soup/Salad gift exchange party, and of course our great Christmas Show. On the right Gary Turner, of the Dapper Dans, is presenting a bouquet of red roses to musical director Jeanne Brown in appreciation for all her hard work in getting the Dans finely tuned.

After the Heritage Hoofers performed a wonderful tap dance and encore, the Dapper Dans returned for a second set, followed by 2 lovely songs sung by Mary Rose Cassell. After that we played a dozen favorite Christmas songs on the large screen tv with a karaoke player so everyone could see the words and join in. One table got up and did an impromptu rendition of Jingle Bell Rock. On the left Huguette Duff, Sue & Tom Gill, and Larry and Carol Knopfel join in the fun singing along. Mary Rose & Stu Cassell served cookies they baked along with coffee and hot chocolate that Carol & Roger Richert made. It was a really fun evening we’ll do again.
