HHR RECEIVES STATE
BEAUTIFICATION AWARD!

Above Left: John Pellerito received a state beautification award from Laura Thompson, Club Citation Chairman of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri. This award is granted to only one Missouri property per month in recognition of the meritorious service for community betterment performed in beautifying and landscaping their immediate area for the enjoyment of their fellow citizens. Lower Right: HHR resident Marjorie Bruce was instrumental in nominating our Clubhouse area for this prestigious award. Seated across from her is Eunice McEldon, Jardin du Lac Club President. A permanent award sign was also given to us and placed across from the guard shack.

COMMUNITY NOTIFICATIONS

The family of the late John Hunt would like to express our sincerest appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown during our period of bereavement. Your expressions of love, support and sympathy through phone calls and cards, offerings of assistance, prayers, visits and donations of food for the repast lightened our burden considerably and deeply comforted us. Your thoughtfulness and concern has been a tremendous source of consolation and strength. We shall remain ever grateful.

Barbara Hunt

OCTOBER 19TH BOWLING

Laverne Meyer and Don Roberts pose with the money they won in our poker jackpot when we went bowling on October 19th. The way this works is everyone puts in a dollar per game. Every time they get a strike or a spare they draw a card. The person with the best poker hand wins the pot. Laverne won in game one and Don won in game two. Afterwards we all enjoyed lunch in the Plaza Bowl’s deluxe back room.

The HHR Friday Night Couple’s Golf Group played their final outing of the season on October 14, 2005. After completing a round of golf, all members plus spouses/friends enjoyed a Kentucky Fried Chicken feast with sides, followed by dessert. Missouri Lottery scratch-off tickets were given as attendance prize’s and the twenty-five people in attendance enjoyed the evening. No big lottery winners were identified. Gordon Wilkinson is seen above with Dottye Beattie. Gordon moved in at the end of September and was among the new residents welcomed.

Roger Sparks is seen with one of the three women that he lives with at HHR. This one is his wife, Phylis Sparks. Her mother & aunt live with them.

Thelma Kehres is seen with sister Lavonne Vogel. They live with Roger & Phylis Sparks. Thelma won a bottle of wine during a fun game at the 2005 Octoberfest.

The 2005 Octoberfest was a banner event for attracting newer residents. Among them was Carol Jones, who enjoyed the catered dinner by Banadana’s. We also had a beer keg.
