MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM
LIVES UP TO ITS NAME
Ben Walters was booked months before we realized the St. Louis Rams would
be in the play-offs. On the night of his blue jean concert, Jan. 22nd,
some of the residents enjoyed his performance while others watched the
game (on mute) in the same room. Everyone had fun. (Photos by John
Pellerito)
Pat Roberts, Judy Jaques, and Helen Roberts, are faced with a tough
decision at the January 7th Donut & Bagel Social. Approximately 24
residents attended this delicious free event which is held monthly during
the winter. It’s a great chance to visit with neighbors.

~IN
APPRECIATION~
To All Our HHR Neighbors -
Merci, Danke, Gracias. In any language we can’t say “Thank You”
enough for all of your support. Your calls, cards, and especially your
prayers meant so much to us both during Bob’s long hospital stay. See
you around this great community.
Love you all,
Bob & Sandra Heuay
Special Thank You To …
Garth Wayman and Lowell Barnes for placing and lighting over 150
holiday luminaries at our entrance Dec. 24th.: to Pat Fairhurst who was
able to get a local supermarket to donate 100 milk jugs; to Sue and Tom
Gill, Judy and Vince Koehr, Stephanie Hempel and Bob Bell, Carol and
Roger Richert, Pat & John Fairhurst who took responsibility for certain
areas in our subdivision and made sure everyone had luminaries and was
able to light them; to Jeanne and Jerry Brown and Betty Asher and Paul
Brauner.
If you are able to save the gallon milk jugs throughout the year,
please do so. Just rinse them and take the label off and leave them on
my porch at 2188 Hawks Landing DR. It would really be appreciated. If
you have any comments or suggestions towards this project please give me
a call. Shirley Barnes 561-4195.
Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for attending the celebration of my 90th birthday party.
There were lots of memories, and many kind words, funny & touching
cards, and Tim Conway movies that help pass the time with lots of
laughter. Your friendship is special to me, and that was a night I will
always remember.
Love, Leal

KARAOKE NIGHT
JANUARY 8, 2005 |
 |
The Big Bopper” (aka Joe O’Coin), is seen performing above
on the left. The first time he did this song he had a cell phone; this
time he went to the lobby and borrowed a full sized phone - if he follows
this progression at the next Karaoke we’ll see him singing from a phone
booth. |
 |
Carol & Larry Knopfel, along with Vince and Judy Koehr
belt out “That’s Amore”. We use the 61 inch tv so that everyone can see
the words and the audience can sing along anytime they like. If you’re
shy, there’s always people that are happy to join you in a song. |
 |
In a “gang-sing” from left to right are: Karen Singleton,
Annie Pick, Mary Dent, Pat Goddard, Huguette Duff, Oolah, Stephanie Hempel,
Barbara Deater, Judy Koehr, and Ellen O’Coin. The next Karaoke is
scheduled for Saturday, March 5th at 6:30 PM. They’re fun and they’re
free! |

Always elegant Betty McGavran served as the “cue card lady” for the ladies
ensemble known as “Golden Girls Times Two” |
|
 |
“Golden Girls Times Two” From left
to right are Lynn Rogers, Janet Cook, Shirley Barnes, Stephanie Hempel, the
effervescent Sandy Aubuchon, and Judy Koehr. The ladies performed two songs,
and even had props that they used during one extremely funny parody. Both
the men’s and ladies performances were outstanding and it’s great that we
have so many talented people living here willing to share their gifts.

They call themselves the “Dapper
Dans.” Below Tom Gill, Gary McCullough, Gary Turner, and Don Roberts sing in
4 part harmony at our New Years Eve Party. The men were funny, sang great,
and have become Heritage of Hawk Ridge’s office barbershop quartet. Thanks
guys!

Chad Zahn, our Pro-Shop manager served as bartender at our New Year’s Eve
Dance Party. Over 80 residents and guests attended and danced to the music
of the great band Third Degree. This was the third year in a row that 3rd
Degree performed. Chad is standing behind our new portable bar. |

A great gang of residents warmed up
with coffee and cookies after caroling for the St. Louis Christmas Carols
Association. December 10th was a cold, blustery night but the group
persevered and collected $223.45 from our generous Heritage Community.

Five couples from the St. Charles
Imperial Swing Dance Club gave a demo of basic moves at our Winter Dance on
January 22nd. (left). |
|

|
They’ll be offering a beginner’s Imperial Swing class in Feb. Jane and Ron
Ehrle are seen dancing to the music provided by the Joe Bozzi Band. |

Karen Singleton and her father
Leal Stewart pose for a picture at Leal’s 90th birthday party which was a
community event. It was our largest turn-out to date, with over 100 people
in attendance. Karen organized the event and acted as the MC for the evening
and did a wonderful job. Since Leal was a real cowboy early in his life, the
theme was Western and everyone came dressed up accordingly. Poems were read,
anecdotes shared, Western songs sung, and Karen drew for prizes that she
gave out.
