A Cup of Christmas Tea on December 5, 2004 was one of many fun holiday
events residents of Heritage of Hawk Ridge enjoyed this year.
Below are pictures of this very festive holiday activity.

Holiday Progressive Dinner

On December 19, 2004 nearly 80 residents participated in the Heritage of
Hawk Ridge Holiday Progressive Dinner. Seven resident couples (Shirley &
Lowell Barnes, Jane & Ron Ehrle, Sharon & Gary Rhodes, Pat & Don Roberts,
Chris & Jerry Stephenson, Andree & Garth Wayman, and Vickie & Rick Wolz)
hosted appetizer parties from 5 to 6 pm.
Dinner was then held at the Country Club from 6:15 pm until 8:00 pm and
included many side dishes prepared by residents along with beef brisket
and pork loin (provided by Dierbergs through the efforts of our own Fran
Lucido). Dinner was served on holiday place settings brought to the club
house by several residents.
A short program included Christmas Carols led by Jeanne Brown and sung
by all in attendance; followed with attendance prizes won by several
residents. After dinner from 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm, seven dessert hosts
(Barbara & Ralph Deater, Pat Goddard, Elvira & Bud Johnson, Shirley &
Larry Kruse, Betty & Fred McGavran, Lynn & Tom Rogers, and Maureen & Fred
Uhle) provided the topping to a very nice evening. Thanks to all who
participated and helped with setup and cleanup. The dinner committee
consisted of: Judy & Vince Koeher, Pat Turner, and Carol & Larry Knopfel.

Pictured here: Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus (a.k.a. Fred & Betty McGavran)
greet dinner resident guests, Steve Aubuchon and Tom Rogers at the door of
the Country Club.

Special thanks to our wonderful residents who kept the clubhouse
sparkling after each fun event. It’s much appreciated.

As a representative of Heritage of Hawk Ridge, Jeanette
Hage presented Stu Cassell a gift of $250.00, a small token of the
resident’s appreciation for all Stu’s hard work on our behalf, planning,
scheduling our activities, as well as all the other myriad of things he
does. Stu goes above and beyond the call to take care of all of our wants
and needs. John Pellerito was presented with a gift of $100.00 for being
such a great assistant to Stu and to show our appreciation for his
wonderful attitude and helpfulness. John is always willing to go the extra
mile to help us out. Photo & article by Andree Wayman |

The Fitness Center is one of the many amenities in the
Heritage of Hawk Ridge Clubhouse that is available to residents
twenty-four hours a day. At the right Karen Singleton, Marlene Hughes, and
Carol Richert use the treadmills. There is a television mounted to the
wall in the Fitness Center so residents can either listen to the overhead
music, or watch tv while they work out. |

Mixed Media instructor Virginia Dragschultz is seen above
with Vince Koehr. Vince, a former commercial artist is extremely
talented. Recently, we have used his artistic talents to help with
special event decorations. We have a lot of extremely talented folks
living at Heritage of Hawk Ridge. Next month this art class will be
offered free to HHR residents in conjunction with a cooperative
program with the recreation department of Lake St. Louis. |

On December 4, 2004 the St. Louis Harmony Chorus performed
at Heritage of Hawk Ridge. The all woman a cappella chorus performed a
special Christmas Program, in addition to their competition set. Mike
Cook mentioned that it was Janet Cook’s birthday that evening, and the
St. Louis Harmony Chorus surprised her with a 4 part harmony rendition
of Happy Birthday. The show was great. |

Resident Shirley Barnes coordinated the Cup of
Christmas Tea this year. Everyone raved about what a wonderful time
they had. Guest Peggy Nichols (above) sang and read from her book. |

Pictures of some of our ladies enjoying themselves at the
first Heritage of Hawk Ridge Soup & Salad & Christmas Remembrance Exchange
that took place in the Clubhouse on December 13, 2004. The ladies brought
their favorite soup or salad recipe and a wrapped gift or ornament to
exchange. They played a game where people could “steal” any opened gift from
their neighbor. Carol Richert was the organizer of this fun event.

Ladies Bridge Luncheon on Dec. 16th. Karen Singleton won a prize for having
the single highest score the past year.. Andree was the season’s overall
high scorer.

The ladies had their end of the year Bridge Luncheon & card
game (left photo). When Andree Wayman and her sister Jeanette Hage started
bridge at Heritage of Hawk Ridge they began with just one table. Now they
have enough players for three tables, and several subs available to fill in
as needed. Pat Turner was the high money winner for 2004. |
