NO MORE SEX FOR VINCE KOEHR"

At the July 17th Heat of the Night Dance, Vince Koehr was one of the winners of our Spoon Dance. He won a coffee mug that said, “Over the Hill Eye Chart”. The letters spelled out: NO MORE SEX FOR U. He doesn’t believe it which is probably why he’s smiling.

Men’s get together, monthly breakfasts. Give us your suggestions. Contact Carol Richert.

OF GROWING CONCERN

Recently, we have received a number of reports of people going on the golf course in the evenings and on Mondays when the course is closed. In some cases these are members, who don’t have to pay, but are playing after the posted course hours. Also reported are instances where a member brings a relative on to the course after hours to play a round of golf. Lastly, non-residents have been spotted coming on to the course in the evenings. We ask our residents to refrain from playing free rounds or rounds after the course is closed. Regarding the non-resident problem, we are looking into some possible remedies.Back to Top

LADY HAWKES GOLF LEAGUE ANNUAL TOURNAMENT
By Andree Wayman

A glorious day greeted the Lady Hawkes Golf League for their annual golf tournament on Friday, July 16, 2004. It stayed fairly cool through most of the tournament. A best ball, two member scramble, was played, and the winners were: first place with a score of 31, Sandy Aubuchon and Doris Struble, second place, with a score of 32, Sharon Aubuchon and Moe Uhle, and third place, with a score of 33, was Carol Knopfel and Reba Smedshammer. Prizes were also given for closest to the pin on holes number 3 and 7. On hole#3, the winner was Sylvia Driscoll, and on hole #7, Stephanie Hempel was the winner.

Upon completion of the tournament, a beautiful luncheon was held in the card room at the clubhouse. Sandy Aubuchon and Karen Singleton, Social Chairpersons, outdid themselves with the darling table decorations, as well as arranging with Leah for a super lunch of chicken salad, pasta salad, and fruit salad. Sandy and Karen also made banana, blueberry and poppy seed mini muffins, which were delicious! A wonderful cheese cake was served for dessert. Tea, Coca Cola, (courtesy of Phil Lucido) and wine, weren also served. Kudos to Leah for helping with the lunch.

Prizes were given to all winners. Great gifts from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, gift cards from Borders Books, and gift certificates for merchandise and golf, from our own Heritage Hawk Ridge golf course, courtesy of Stu. The first place winners also received really cute ball marker earrings. A big thanks to Stephanie Hempel for organizing the tournament and procuring the prizes. Thanks to all of the members who had a hand in making this year’s tournament so successful!

PAT GODDARD JAILED FOR CURSING!

Not really. We took this picture at the July 4th pool party when Pat was kind enough to retrieve a few plastic golf balls that landed on the other side of the fence during the Water Golf Contest.

Do you know this man?

This is Paul Stedman. His wife allows him to go out at night by himself, but he needs to be watched very closely. Despite his innocent appearance he is a crafty little devil! He is the current UNDEFEATED Spoon Dance Champion of Heritage of Hawk Ridge. He’s got the moves! In the 15 years we’ve been running this dance contest, he has NEVER ONCE BEEN ELIMINATED! He has over 120 prizes that he’s won in his hallway closet. Don’t open that door!

Andree Wayman wins a prize for dancing with 500 different people July 17th.

She has great form - and her golf swing ain’t half bad either!

Annie Pick gets ready to send a ball flying during the Water Golf Contest at our July 4th Extravaganza. You should see her on the dance floor with her flashing high heels!

A young bull and an old bull were at the top of a hill looking down at a herd of cows.

The young bull said to the old bull, “Why don’t we run down the hill and “take care” (obvious euphemism) of 2 or 3 of those gorgeous cows?” The old bull smiled and replied to the young bull: “Why don’t we WALK down the hill and take care of ALL of those gorgeous cows?” Mikey Cook seen at the dessert table on the right reminds me of the wise old bull. He’s not just another pretty face and he’s always thinking. During the July 4th Pot Luck Dinner while 60 others waited in the food line, Mike started with his dessert first. It seemed like a great idea as about 8 other people saw him and did the same thing.

“Dear, you have a little schmutz on your blouse, right there.”

That’s one possible explanation for what Jeanette Hage is doing, but really, she’s just cutting in on Pat Fairhurst so she can dance with Jerry Brown during the Spoon DanceContest at the Heat of the Night Dance, July 17th.

The picture on the left is way too small to actually serve any useful purpose other than to fill an empty spot, but what it says is that using your mind is a great way to save your brain, and that playing games like bridge that require thinking actually strengthen your immune system.
HARD WORK - HOURS OF TRAINING!
Hard work, hours of training - had absolutely nothing to do with winning the rubber duck race on July 4th. But perhaps the indomitable spirit of these enthusiastic die hard competitors and their love of rubber bath toys enabled them to wipe out all comers in their race towards the finish line. Seen above are victors: Janet & Gayle Cattau, Vince Koehr, Carol Richert, Stephanie Hempel (note duck on her head) Pat Goddard, Roger Richert, and Steve Aubuchon. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, MY FRIEND, WE’LL PUSH OUR DUCKIES, TO THE END ...

“She really should have that thing looked at”
She’s cute, but what’s that sticking out of her …? Actually, if you must know, this is the lovely and talented Pat Turner, former synchronized swim champion, competing in the Noodle Race on July 4th.
