PLACE YOUR BETS LADIES & GENTS"

Fred McGavran is seen taking Roulette bets below at our Casino Night on May 22nd. This fund raiser, pushed us over the top of our goal of $2,000 to purchase a clubhouse defibrillator. Preparation for Casino Night involved 28 residents, and 6 practice sessions, and was an unqualified success. We had 2 blackjack tables, a computerized Prize Wheel on our large screen tv, a Craps table, Roulette, and 3 Poker tables. In addition, residents staffed the Cashier Station where HHR Bucks and Poker Chips were sold. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

OH NO FIRST DUCKS IN THE POOL, AND NOW THIS!

Contrary to popular belief, there is no preferred parking at the clubhouse. Annie Pick couldn’t resist temporarily backing her new car here for a quick gag photo. You never know what she’ll do next!

3 Way Tie at
Memorial Day Scramble
Photos & report by John Pellerito

The HHR Memorial Day Golf Scramble was held on Sunday 5-30-04. It was a breezy, sunny, hot and humid day, but all the golfers were up to the challenge. The Scramble ended in a dead heat with 3 “twosomes” virtually tied at 27 - even par. The pairs decided on a coin toss rather than a play off to determine the ultimate winner. Rumor has it that the golfers figured they had a 50% chance to win with a coin toss - much better odds than if the playoff was held.

The winning team was Lowell Barnes (pictured) and Joe Weszgrowitz.

2nd place went to Gayle Cattau and Terry Rieder .

Third place went to Fred McGavran and Joe Riley.

Strangely enough, the top two teams birdied #1 and bogeyed #6. The winning team won 2 rounds of golf at the Links of Dardenne. The 2nd place team won $25.00 gift certificates to Chevy’s. The 3rd place team won a free entry to our next tournament. Bob & John did an outstanding job organizing the event and Leah and Matt provided an excellent meal, as always.

2nd Place Michael & Mike Cook

A reminder to people not playing golf: Use of the golf cart path for walking is prohibited except on Mondays when the course is closed. This is for your protection as well as insurance liability issues
