ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS
SAVE A LIFE

Gateway Blood Association will come out to our clubhouse and set up a Blood Drive if we can get 20 or more people to donate their blood. Gateway will let you know your blood type and your cholesterol level. If you are willing to donate, please sign up at the clubhouse. We currently have 11 people signed up, so we just need 9 more to have our first blood drive. As soon as we have 20 volunteers we will set this up and notify the volunteers.

From Stu's Desk or somewhere near it!

Dear Friends,

First, a quick thank you to everyone who jumped in and “covered” for me while I was out during my father’s extended hospital stay. He went in for a hip replacement, had a heart attack, and the next thing we knew he was having a double by-pass and heart valve operation.

On behalf of my family I want to thank everyone for the thoughtful card and the funds that were collected on behalf of my father. The family has decided to donate the money to the American Heart Association.

All in all, March was a pretty yukky month, weather wise, war-wise, and in my case family-wise. But Spring is here, the sun has made numerous appearances in the past few weeks, and lots of fun things are happening.

The golf course is open, the tennis players will soon be back on the courts, the Monday Morning Walking Club will resume their walks, and of course it’s times to play Bocce Ball!

I’m ready for some outdoor fun, hope you are too!

Stu

Lunch at the Pro-Shop Grill Ray Withey, Dave Williams, Nancy Withey, Mary Williams, and Jerry and Jeanne Brown enjoy a great lunch at the Pro-Shop Grill.

Equipment Instruction Gary Turner is getting instruction how to adjust the seat on
Multi-station exercise machine from Diane Rabe, our aerobics and yoga
Teacher. 15 residents attended her class on how to use the equipment.
Proposal???? Ray Withey proposing to Nancy, or just down on one knee begging her to release him from a thumb lock she learned from watching the World Wrestling Federation Smack-Down? Or maybe they were both inspired by the beauty of the Orchids at the Botanical Gardens during our trip there on March 14th.
Sandy Aubuchon Sandy Aubuchon joined us along with 11 other residents for a fun day that began at the Omnimax and ended at the fabulous St. Louis Botanical Gardens.
Dinner at Zia's This happy crew is about to feast on some great food at Zia’s on the Hill. Left side of table: Nancy Withey, Marlene Hughes, Karen Singleton, Janet Cook, Stephanie Hempel, Sandy Aubuchon. Right side of table: Ray Withey, Jerry Brown, Jeanne Brown, Laverne Meyer, Doris Maulhardt, and her daughter Elaine. Stephanie Hempel suggested this wonderful day which started with a movie at the Omnimax Theater at the Science Center, then lunch on the Hill, then an Orchid Show at the Botanical Gardens. It was fun!
Omnimax Our group (all names listed above) enjoyed seeing Jane Goodall’s “Wild Chimpanzees” shown in the giant screen Omnimax Theater at the St. Louis Science Center. After the movie we took a little time to look around then headed to Zia’s.
