Jim Singleton seen with a BLONDE!

JimSingleton.jpg (43495 bytes)At our Lobster Dinner Show on July 6th, the St. Louis Strutters’ vivacious guest singer Dianna Whipperman, age 84, belted out several songs with a voice that rivaled the late great Ethel Merman. Dianna, with a twinkle in her eye, stopped to sing to Jim Singleton, as well as several other men in the captivated audience. She was a real crowd pleaser. July 4th Swimming Pool Party & Casino Trip

JackieJoyce.jpg (62259 bytes) Jackie & Joyce Prusaczyk enjoy refreshments and visit with friends while they watch the fireworks. We were able to see displays from poolside from 8 different local townships and it was spectacular!

alshark.jpg (60583 bytes) Al Schwartz is momentarily frightened by a great white shark, as Marlene Hughes tells him not to be such a wuss. The shark turned out to be just a hallucination caused by some bad herring Al had ingested earlier.

AltonBelle1.JPG (118540 bytes) On Saturday July 13th we had a nearly full bus on our trip to the Alton Belle Casino. Pictured above are Annie Pick, Al & Lynda Schwartz, Hugette Duff, Dave & Mary Williams, Mary Rose & Stu Cassell, and Karen & Jim Singleton. After we gambled a while we ate lunch at Fast Eddies, delicious and cheap!

AltonBelle2.JPG (54000 bytes) Karen Singleton told Activities Director Stu Cassell during the week “If I win at the Alton Belle, I’ll buy everyone lunch.” Well, she did both - she won over $500 and bought everyone lunch at Fast Eddies. Thanks Karen, lunch was wonderful!

Puttin on the Ritz Dinner Dance July 20
Puttin1.JPG (123497 bytes) Annie Pick is selecting the first “Slider” she’s ever eaten. We had a White Castle Buffet with 150 “belly bombers”, including cheeseburgers and bacon cheese burgers, french fries, and onion rings. For dessert we had pies from Tippins. What a feast!

Garth Wayman holds up the beef jerky he won in the “Ritz Trivia Contest”. Janet Cook, one of our newest residents scored some Mrs. Fields cookies. Her husband Mike is seen in the background making plans to steal a few of them later.

July 6th Lobster Dinner Dance Featuring the St. Louis Strutters

Besides the lobsters and corn on the cob we had salad and bread from Rich n Charlies. Nancy & Ray are seen here on the right with the “dessert cart” which had several different types of cheesecake, which you could eat with either strawberries on top or whipped cream or both! They even garnished them with mint leaves. You both missed your calling - you should open a restaurant. They totally spoiled us and even served frozen margaritas while the Strutters performed.

Nancy & Ray Withey suggested a lobster dinner back in February and Stu thought it was a great idea. The Witheys were able through Ray to get us 1.5 pound lobsters WHOLESALE! Not only did they shop for everything, but they prepared the lobsters, corn on the cob, and bought delicious cheesecake for dessert. Nancy is seen here on the left with a giant bowl filled with the sumptuous lobsters just prior to dinner being served.

The St. Louis Strutters

After dinner the fabulous St. Louis Strutters performed and impressed us all. These ladies are all former Miss Senior Missouri’s, and range in age from 64 to 76. All of the lovely ladies are former professional dancers and they donate all of their earnings to charity. They were great!
