Library Donations Needed

LIBRARY DONATIONS NEEDED …

The business center has a wall full of shelves that we can fill with book donations from the residents.

We shall be accepting books
once the clubhouse opens, and they will be available to everyone to borrow and read. If you have any books that  you have enjoyed and no longer need, why not share them with your neighbors?

 Thank you.

Stu!From Stu’s Desk or somewhere near it

Each month I will enclose a form for you to use to select the activities you would like to participate in, as well as indicating deadlines for signing up.

In those instances where we need to pay for tickets I will also indicate how much and how soon I need your checks. Theater tickets require purchases months in advance to better our chances of getting seats for popular shows. Once the Clubhouse is open signup sheets will be in the Business Center for classes.

Please take time to review all of the activity choices and select those that interest you. Beginning in May there will be something going on virtually every day of the week. You will have access to the Clubhouse 24 hours a day. My days off will be Monday and Tuesday, but there will still be activities scheduled on those days, such as Aerobics Classes, etc.

I am very much open to ideas from the residents on possible activities, clubs, and events. Also, I won’t turn down any offers of help in setting up for parties, decorating, and clean-up. I am after all just one person, so any help will be greatly appreciated and you may end up in my will. In addition to my activities responsibilities I have certain limited property management functions, including supervision of the guards, snow removal, lawn cutting, supervision of the clubhouse amenities and pro-shop.

Individual homeowner situations may be outside the scope of my responsibilities. It’s not that I don’t want to help you, but other than snow removal and lawn cuts, we are in many ways like any other subdivision where you take care of your home yourself. When I can I will offer suggestions or steer you in the right direction, even if I can’t directly get involved. Lastly, I like everyone I’ve met and hope to be with you a long time sharing much laughter and fun.

Health WatchHEALTH WATCH - by Kelly Peterson, R.N.

GERMS, GERMS, GERMS! There have been numerous strains of the flu hitting our area recently. With the ups and downs of the temperature more of us have had the sniffles too. Some of you may even be wondering why you got a flu shot! The best way to protect ourselves, (besides staying home, pulling the shades and not letting anyone in), is to wash your hands. There are many products on the market today called hand sanitizers (Purel and Germ X are just 2 of the many) that do not require any water. You just put a few drops in your hand, rub them together, and they kill the germs. I carry one in my purse, one in my car and one in my gym bag. We can’t avoid all germs, but why not try and keep them at bay by washing our hands!

Seeing those 70-75 degree temperatures lately only make us crave those warm spring and summer days even more. To excite you even more…..Aqua aerobics is coming! Our tentative date for our first class is Thursday, May 2nd at 10 am. This will be an hour long class in the new “heated” pool and include stretching, aerobic activity, and toning. Even if you don't know how to swim, this class is just for you. The pool is shallow enough that adults will be able to stand on the bottom. Bring your beach towel and join us for some “Fun In The Sun”!
